eDoctor is an innovative Ed-Tech project through a Joint Venture of “Dow University of Health Sciences” & Educast-Virtual Teaching Platform, “www.educast.co.uk”. As the first project, eDoctor is Training the currently “out of work home based Lady doctors”through its Educational Technology tools and platform back into Healthcare arena.
There is substantial cost in getting a Doctor educated for 5 years and go through house job, a ball park figure of Rs 5.0 million is spend on each doctor getting trained. In Pakistan since number of years the current enrolment of Medical students carries a percentage of more than “65% plus” comprising of Female Gender ( in both Public/Private institutions) out of these passing out Lady Doctors, 80% plus leave the profession with in the first 1 year after completion of house jobs, causing not only a major gap in the required healthcare system of the
country, but also a substantial loss in term of expenses on these Doctors. eDoctor through academic support and training facilitation of “Dow University of Health Sciences” and Sate of the art tested Virtual Teaching/Training platform of “Educast”, started the project to provide online trainings and teachings to these home based out of work Lady doctors and also to provide hands on Skill training, Trainings in Telehealth tools, Knowledge on Online assessment of remote patient , along with Options to working in field as interns, so they can become active in the healthcare field as Online/InField doctors once again.
This project has acclaimed a wide support from Federal and Provincial health Authorities and leading Healthcare providers ( list enclosed in section: “Supported by”). As first batch for a 6 month Virtual Online Family Medicine Certification started in July 2018 with intake of 120 Lady doctors, possessing PMDC registrations subsequently 2nd batch started in Nov 2018 with an intake of 160 lady doctors from.
